How many small things can you think of to use to encourage people? Our challenge to youth and young adults is to find specific acts of kindness that point people to God. And to illustrate this we have another roundtable competition on this episode of our youth ministry podcast, Youth Challenge Today.
Point People To God
On episode 17 of Youth Challenge Today we played a few clips of a video from Kid President that encourages us with 20 things we should say more often. Josh turned this into another on-the-spot, un-rehearsed, roundtable competition. The challenge: think of as many small things that you can say to somebody, or different things you can do to encourage people. Here are some of the things we came up with.
- Carry money with you that is designated for someone in need
- Tell others what they mean to you
- Leave a generous, anonymous tip for a server like @TipsForJesus
- Ask others if you can pray for them
- Offer to help others
- Be polite to others
- Visit the sick
- Stand up for others
- Use Social Media to encourage specific people with scripture
Be creative. Think of something. This is your Youth Challenge for the New Year: look for small things to do. Not random acts of kindness; but very specific things that you can use to point people to God.
